�Visakhapatnam:�Visakhapatnam is set to host a Regional Tourism Investors Engagement Summit on Monday, with key stakeholders gathering to position the city as a national model for tourism development. The event aims to attract significant investments and showcase the region’s diverse tourism potential. Delegates from across the country are expected to participate in discussions.
Speaking to the media, tourism minister Kandula Durgesh highlighted that the summit will involve investors from five districts, with 150 expected to attend, resulting in MoUs with 15 investors. He also revealed that a new tourism policy for 2025-29 is in the works, promising substantial employment opportunities. Key projects include the development of Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota in Anantapur, with an investment of Rs 170 crore, and the upgrade of iconic sites such as Satya Deva Temple in Annavaram and Ahobilam.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Managing Director Amrapali Kata stressed the importance of transforming Visakhapatnam into a premier tourism destination. The summit will explore opportunities in adventure, cruise, eco, and temple tourism, as well as beach, medical, and boating tourism. The state plans to enhance the region’s tourism infrastructure, including cruise terminals and expanded beaches.
