Hyderabad youth dies in road mishap at Massachusetts

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old NRI from the city Mohammed Wajid, who was pursuing higher studies in Chicago, was killed in a road accident in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Wednesday. While driving a car, he ignored a stop sign at an intersection and collided with a truck and died instantaneously.

The accident occurred early Wednesday morning (IST) when it was 7 or 8 pm Tuesday in the US.

Wajid was an active leader of the Youth Congress in the Khairatabad division and also served as a member of the NRI minority Congress committee in the USA.

Rohin Reddy, president of the Khairatabad district Congress committee, expressed sorrow, saying, “Wajid was a disciplined young man. His passion, energy and dedication to our organisation will be deeply missed.”

Rohin Reddy also mentioned that heavy fog and poor visibility had led to the accident.

Meanwhile, Wajid’s family is set to travel to the USA on Thursday, where his last rites will be performed.
