Hyderabad: The Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) and the Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) have announced their support for MLC Alugubelli Narsi Reddy and former TPTF president Y. Ashok Kumar in the upcoming Teacher MLC elections on February 27.
At a joint press conference held on Wednesday at the TSUTF state office, the organisations officially announced their candidates, highlighting their decades-long contribution to the teachers’ movement. The two organisations declared Narsi Reddy as their candidate for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teacher constituency and Ashok Kumar for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar teacher constituency.
Narsi Reddy, elected in 2019, has worked to improve schools and colleges using constituency development funds. He has also taken steps to solve teacher and education-related issues. Ashok Kumar, a former TPTF leader, has led many protests and was actively involved in the Telangana movement with Prof. Kodandaram.
